“Doc” Hastings got into bed with Big Oil immediately upon being elected to Congress. He was mentored by the infamous, and now convicted felon, Tom DeLay, the ringleader of the Culture of Corruption in the House GOP leadership. DeLay quickly introduced Hastings around to the big oil company lobbyists, and he signed his soul away to ensure huge campaign war chests going forward. He has voted 100% for oil companies, reduced regulations, continued subsidies, limits on damages for environmental destruction, and anything and everything that increases Big Oil’s reach, domination, and profits. Donations from oil companies are still the largest contributions Doc takes in each year.
He will tell lies, promote projects that benefit no one else but oil companies, and bully those warning of environmental concerns.
